Jhonn Borges, highlighted the pressing challenge faced in Venezuela: over 16,000 deep reservoirs with falling pressures due to gas injection. To tackle this, the adoption of artificial lift methods was crucial. After thorough evaluation, Gas Lift and ESP emerged as the most effective extraction techniques. This strategic decision led to a remarkable production increase, reaching 55.3 MBNPD in 2016. However, the ongoing challenge revolves around efficiently producing wells with moderate RGL. To address this, we propose a forward-looking approach: completing the first ESP well accompanied by a mandrel at 9,000 feet. This strategy aims to further advance our capacity to massify Artificial Lifting Methods in Deep Compositional Reservoirs, ultimately optimizing production and reservoir performance.
