The WordPress Intern plays a key role in supporting the web development team in creating, maintaining, and updating WordPress-based websites. This internship position offers hands-on experience in working with one of the most popular content management systems and gaining valuable skills in web development, design, and site optimization. The intern will work closely with experienced developers and designers, contributing to the successful implementation of various web projects
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in building and customizing WordPress websites using themes, templates, and plugins.
  • Learn to implement HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to modify website layouts and functionalities.
  • Upload, format, and organize website content, including text, images, and multimedia.
  • Ensure content is presented accurately and consistently across the website.
  • Participate in website testing to identify and fix issues related to responsiveness, browser compatibility, and functionality.
  • Work with the team to ensure the website meets quality standards.
  • Learn about basic SEO principles and apply them to optimize website content and improve search engine rankings.
  • Assist in implementing SEO best practices, such as keyword research and on-page optimization.
  • Support the team in performing routine updates and maintenance tasks on existing websites.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Help analyse website performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics.
  • Prepare reports on website traffic, user behaviour, and other relevant data.
  • Assist in creating website mock-ups and design elements under the guidance of the design team.
  • Learn to work with graphic design tools to produce visually appealing web elements.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance WordPress skills and web development knowledge.
  • Seek feedback from team members and supervisors to continuously improve performance.
The Person
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of web development concepts, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in using graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator is a bonus.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and stay updated with the latest web development trends.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing time effectively.
