John Sahlin is the Vice President of Cyber Pursuit at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) within its Defense Division and serves as the Solution Owner for GDIT’s Everest Zero Trust Digital Accelerator program. A senior technology executive, John brings deep expertise across cybersecurity, Zero Trust architecture, tactical edge computing, and large-scale federal and defense technology programs. He has played a pivotal role in advancing cybersecurity modernization by applying his extensive experience in designing tactical edge solutions for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, leading to a first-of-its-kind field deployment of Zero Trust at the tactical edge in direct support of USINDOPACOM mission operations.
His leadership has been instrumental in accelerating Zero Trust adoption across both tactical and enterprise environments for U.S. Defense and Federal agencies, enabling secure, resilient, and mission-ready digital infrastructure in highly regulated and high-risk environments. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he holds a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University, where he also contributes as an educator by teaching cybersecurity. His contributions to the cybersecurity domain have been widely recognized, including being named WashingtonExec 2023 Pinnacle Award – Cybersecurity Executive of the Year and receiving the Fortress 2025 Cybersecurity Leader Award.
