ABOUT THE SESSION
Mr. Banerjee brings over 15 years of experience in the downstream sector, specializing in global refining and petrochemical market analysis. His expertise spans economic forecasting, data analytics, and supply chain optimization across refined and chemical products.
Before joining Stratas Advisors, he held key roles at Sapient Consulting and Wood Mackenzie, where he focused on refinery supply and demand modeling. He began his career as a Process Engineering Intern at Reliance Industries and later worked with Larsen & Toubro’s R&D division in Mumbai. Mr. Banerjee holds an M.S. in Environmental Analysis from Rice University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai.
Key Topics -
- Feedstock Variability Challenge: Fast-pyrolysis, HTL, and Fischer–Tropsch routes are advancing, but small-scale renewable crude plants still face high variability in crude quality—oxygen, metals, TAN, and stability—posing blending and refinery compatibility risks.
- Need for Consistent, Spec-Compliant Feed: Maintaining predictable crude quality is vital to safeguard catalysts, minimize operational upsets, and align with carbon-intensity (CI) and environmental compliance across the refining supply chain.
