Billy Archbold, the Data Scientist and Project Manager at Wood Group PLC, shared his perspective on our efforts to enhance workplace safety through data utilization. At that time, he stressed our ability to analyze past incidents effectively but expressed the desire to take it a step further by predicting and preventing accidents before they happened. He envisioned a future where we could proactively identify potential accidents and intervene to prevent them, emphasizing the need for precise data, advanced tools, ongoing training, and a collective commitment to safety. Archbold made it clear that this journey was not merely a business objective but a profound responsibility to protect the well-being of our workforce. It was a shared endeavor aimed at creating a workplace where accidents were a rare occurrence, leading us towards a safer and smarter future.
